Celebrating Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated a momentous event for India's healthcare scene on October 29. He started, inaugurated, and laid the groundwork for an amazing range of health sector initiatives valued at roughly ₹12,850 crore at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi.

One of the best aspects of this project is the creative application of drone technology to enhance access to healthcare. Prominent institutes like AIIMS Rishikesh and AIIMS Guwahati among 11 tertiary healthcare institutions were among the drone services the Prime Minister promised. This action seeks to guarantee rapid medical support for rural places, therefore transforming the provision of emergency healthcare. He also mentioned Helicopter Emergency Medical Services from AIIMS Rishikesh, which aims to hasten medical reaction times in life-threatening events.

Expanding the dedication to holistic health, Modi set the groundwork for two Central Research Institutes in Odisha and Chhattisgarh with an emphasis on yoga and naturopathy Located across several states, he also launched four Centres of Excellence committed to advancing research in medical devices, bulk medicines, phytopharmaceuticals, and anti-bacterial/anti-viral medication discovery. Development of a strong and self-sufficient healthcare system in India depends on this drive towards research.

In a historic extension of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), the Prime Minister declared health coverage for all senior persons aged 70 and beyond, therefore assuring that this vulnerable demographic receives required medical treatment independent of their financial situation. This program emphasises the government's dedication to healthcare inclusion.

Modi opened Phase II of the AIIA during the event, which features sports medicine, an Ayurvedic pharmacy, and a Panchakarma hospital among other facilities. The inclusion of a central library and an IT and start-ups incubation centre highlights even more a forward-looking strategy to combine conventional care with current technologies.

Along with infrastructure upgrades at other AIIMS around the nation, the prime minister also declared the launch of three new medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. This includes a new Jan Aushadhi Kendra meant to make public access to vital medicines more reasonably priced.

He set the foundation for five new Nursing Colleges in Madhya Pradesh and other Critical Care Blocks in different states, therefore improving the capacity to handle medical emergencies and complementing his larger plan to strengthen healthcare infrastructure.

Modi opened an ESIC Hospital in Indore and set the groundwork for further ESIC facilities spread over numerous states, hence helping almost 55 lakh ESI recipients. This development is a result of a deliberate attempt to offer the working population high-quality healthcare services.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister started the U-WIN portal to simplify immunisation for newborns and pregnant women, therefore guaranteeing timely delivery of necessary vaccinations against different diseases. This digital project seeks to considerably improve mother and child health.

The focus on research and development was underlined even more with the opening of a Central Drugs Testing Laboratory in Bhubaneswar and many Centres of Excellence concentrated on several healthcare fields, including diabetes and Ayurveda.

Five new projects under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for medical equipment and bulk pharmaceuticals opened in line with the Make in India campaign, therefore increasing local production capacity.

At last, Modi started a national campaign called "Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan," meant to increase citizen health awareness, along with state-specific action plans on climate change and human health, so promoting a complete approach to public health in the face of environmental challenges.

All things considered, these projects show a transforming vision for India's healthcare system by fusing current technologies with ancient methods to build a more easily available and efficient framework for every person.
